About Boyd:
I utilize a trauma-informed approach to help clients recover from sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and process addictions. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Services from Evangel University, and received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University. With several years of personal and professional experience working with pornography addiction and problematic sexual behavior, my specialties include treatment of trauma, recovery from pornography/sex addiction, spiritual integration, and religious cult/abuse recovery.
When working with my clients on their core issues, I begin by asking them, “What happened to you?”, instead of, “What’s wrong with you?”, because I believe that once we know someone’s story, we can began to understand how we arrived at the point of crisis. Left untreated, past traumas can fester, and unfortunately these traumas often resurface later in life in ways that may seem unrelated: anxiety, depression, and addiction. When life becomes unmanageable, even the strongest and most resilient among us may need someone to come alongside us and help us sort through our stories. And once we begin to understand our stories, we become empowered to start writing new and better ones…
